Temjen Imna encourages PGC students

Temjen Imna Along Longkumer, minister for Higher Education visited Phek Government College (PGC) on February 8.

A press release from member, media cell, PGC, Temjenmeren stated that, in his speech, Temjen Imna lamented the government’s inability to invest where it was needed owing to scarcity of funds. He, however, expressed appreciation for the people of the district for giving their unceasing cooperation and support to the college. He also laid stress on the need to develop a strong education system to develop the state.

Temjen Imna further reminded the students that PGC was not only for Chakhesangs alone, and encouraged students to serve the people of Nagaland once they passed out of the college and work anywhere in the state with sincerity and dedication.

Also, speaking during the program, additional director of Higher Education, Watijungshi encouraged the college to work harder towards excellence even after the assessment.

The program was chaired by Dr. Vizovol Mekro, principal PGC. Dr. Mekro thanked the minister and briefed him on the immense contributions of the administration, eleven wards and other organisations of Phek town in the hectic preparations for the college NAAC peer team visit the following week.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Besengulie Venuh, vice principal, PGC. The minister was accompanied by NEPED chairman, Kevechutso Doulo, Higher Education director, Watijungshi, political secretaries, public leaders and a host of other dignitaries.
