Preparations are underway for the 45th Karbi Youth Festival (KYF), the six-day-long cultural celebration, which will begin from February 14 in Taralangso, ‘Karbi People’s Hall’.
“Usually, the festival starts from February 15 and ends on 19. But this time, we will open the reception counter a day ahead of the festival i.e. on February 14,” Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council’s Executive Member Horensing Bey, who is the president of reception committee, said.
“Lack of proper accommodation for artists coming from different KCS Zones and remote areas is a common problem of the KYF but this year permanent camps have been set up so that no artists are denied lodging,” Bey said.
The improvement work of 3km road from DIG Bungalow to Taralangso is scheduled to be completed before the festival begins.
